Downstairs had a lot of action; music was good, and not a jerk to be found, which for NYC was a pleasant surprise. Drinks are pricey at $10, but they were well made. I arrived late, but this is the kind of place you want to get to late into the evening. If you want a fairly no-frills good time and make some immediate acquaintances, this is a good spot for you. There is a monitored clothes check, I didn't use it, but if you come with a phone, wallet, cash, etc., you should consider checking a few items soon after you arrive. ”
